Honor Flight Photos - Chapter 21

Rvers needed to help Honor Flight Program

I doubt if you have heard about the Honor Flight program that flies WWII vets to Washington, DC to see the WWII Memorial and other Memorials like the Vietnam, Korean, etc, but it was started in my home town of Enon by an Air Force retiree that flew a few vets in private planes and has snowballed into a huge endeavor. The program was started by Earl Morse of Enon, and as we both have been Enon's Citizen of the Year, I know Earl personally and have wanted to help with the Honor Flight program but, because of health problems, I am unable to accompany the vets on the flights. When Earl called and told me about his new program of using RVs to get the vets to Washington I jumped at the chance to do it. Well, almost immediately a news crew was in the driveway wanting to do a piece for last night's news, so my wife and I (naturally they cut all of her interview) were only able to change into our Chapter 21 shirts and no other "makeup". I haven't had a chance to discuss the program with our chapter yet, but plan on doing it at our next campout in two weeks. I think it would be great publicity for Good Sam chapters to "jump on the bandwagon" and volunteer their RVs, time, and money as it would be our responsibility to get the vets there and then everything would be taken care of once there.

Anyway, here's the link to the spot that was on one of Dayton's TV stations last night:
